Gail Baker is President, ISR & Space Systems, one of six business units that comprise UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corporation. Gail joined ISR & Space Systems as Vice President in April 2017 and was appointed President in October 2017.
ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) & Space Systems provides products and services to global government and commercial markets that enable mission success in space, in the air, on the ground and at sea. The business provides actionable intelligence with surveillance and reconnaissance solutions; state-of-the-art shortwave infrared products for military and industrial applications; environmental control and life support systems for space exploration and power distribution and propulsion systems for undersea applications. Gail’s focus is to drive long-term growth and profitability through excellent customer satisfaction and program execution.
Previously, Gail was Vice President, Air Management Systems & Business Development for the Electric, Environmental and Engine Systems business unit within UTC Aerospace Systems. Gail led the team that provides cabin air conditioning and pressurization systems, bleed and anti-ice systems and fuel tank inerting systems for military and commercial aircraft with sites in the US and Europe.
Other roles at UTC Aerospace Systems have included Vice President, Engine & Environmental Control Systems, where her focus was to bring additional senior executive leadership support across the business while growing the aftermarket revenue; and Vice President, Aerospace Customers & Business Development, where she managed customer relationships and enterprise-wide initiatives, including setting aerospace strategy and leading mergers and acquisition activity for UTC Aerospace Systems.
Gail joined United Technologies Corp. following her graduation from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and continued her education to earn her Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
She is a member of the Wings Club, a member of the Association of the United States Army and sits on the board of Directors of the Hartford Bishop’s Foundation.
