Tom Bergeron is President of the ISR & Space Systems strategic business unit (SBU), formed by the alignment of the former ISR Systems and Space Systems SBUs into a single business. Based in Westford, Massachusetts, ISR & Space Systems provides mission-critical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems to governments and defense customers worldwide and protects and enables life in space, on land and under the sea.

Bergeron joined Goodrich Corp. in 2000 as Vice President and General Manager of the Surveillance and Reconnaissance business when it acquired Raytheon’s electro-optical operations. Beginning his career in 1979 at General Dynamics’ Electric Boat division, Bergeron worked on the Trident-class submarine. In 1982 he relocated to the Boston area, joining Itek Optical Systems as a structural engineer on a reconnaissance camera program. Over the next 15 years he held progressively more senior roles in engineering, program management and new business development.

In 1997, Hughes Electronics acquired Itek Optical Systems and Bergeron was appointed Deputy Executive Director of the Boston-area business. In 1999, Raytheon acquired Hughes Electronics and he became Director of the U2 electro-optical and radar businesses across the United States.

Bergeron holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell.
