Tom Bergeron – President, ISR Systems
Tom Bergeron is President, ISR Systems, based in Chelmsford, Mass.
Bergeron joined Goodrich Corp. in 2000 when it acquired Raytheon’s electro-optical businesses in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Mexico; he was appointed Vice President and General Manager of the Surveillance and Reconnaissance business.
Bergeron began his career in 1979 at General Dynamics’ Electric Boat division, working on the Trident Class submarine. In 1982, he relocated to the Boston area, joining Itek Optical Systems as a structural engineer on a reconnaissance camera program. Over the next 15 years he held progressively more senior roles in engineering, program management and new business. In 1997, Hughes Electronics acquired Itek Optical Systems and Bergeron was appointed Deputy Executive Director of the Boston-area business. In 1999, Raytheon acquired Hughes Electronics and Bergeron became Director of the U2 electro-optical and radar businesses across the United States.
Bergeron holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell.
Bergeron is a member of the Board of the Future Engineering Center at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell and on the Advisory Board for UMass College of Engineering.
