Environmental Testing

Environmental Laboratories

The environmental laboratories are equipped with vibration facilities (sinusoidal, random and gunfire), bump test equipment, thermal cabinets, altitude cabinets, humidity test facilities and salt corrosion cabinets.

Static Test Facilities

The availability of various size cabinets and chambers provides overall test volumes up to 900 x 900 x 900 mm, temperature ranges from -70 to +250°C, humidity levels from 20% to 96% RH, with programmable profiles. Other chambers provide a resource for corrosion tests, cold storage and thermal shock (eg. +200 to -70°C in 20 mins).

Dynamic Test Facilities

Two vibrators provide displacements of up to 1.25", sine vector forces of up to 10,000 lbs.f and velocities up to 60 inch/second. Both have stroboscopic facilities. These systems have up to 8-channel control with an excitation capability that conforms to MIL-STD-810, driven with automatic transportation: gunfire and shock software.

Other Test Facilities

Oven tests up to 500°C and some altitude testing. A variety of flame tests exist that are relevant to thermal detectors.
