Jim Wharton is President of the Landing Systems Strategic Business Unit (SBU), formed by the alignment of the former Wheels & Brakes and Landing Gear SBUs within UTC Aerospace Systems. The Landing Systems business has 21 manufacturing, assembly, and service center sites with nearly 4,000 employees across the globe.
Wharton joined Goodrich Corp. in 1992 as a project engineer at Aircraft Wheels and Brakes, where he held roles of increasing responsibilities in engineering, program management and sales. In 2006, he was promoted to Vice President, Commercial Aircraft Wheels and Brakes, and became Vice President, Sales and Program Management, for the entire business in 2009. He was appointed President, Wheels and Brakes, in July 2012.
Wharton holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Ohio State University.
